Recommended Read: Brandon Sanderson, Mistborn Series

are we going to call the dragonlance series a trilogy as well now? because those books don't take place all together either! who cares if there's like 50 of them. that profanity is a trilogy.

There are several trilogies within the Dragonlance series, Chronicles is indeed a trilogy, as is Legends and many more of them...

that's because Sanderson didn't give each trilogy it's own designation in the title. That doesn't make the story any less a trilogy, and the next book part of the next trilogy if that's how he has envisioned it.
But it still stands that HE HIMSELF HAS CALLED IT A TRILOGY ON HIS OWN GOD DAMN WEBSITE.

and when he removes that #4 from the book listings, i will concede that the mistborn series is a trilogy. until then, however, it is not.

That would be me you recommended it to. I read all 3 books and couldn't put them down. I loved the mistborn concept. I even bought his new mistborn book, alloy of law. Haven't read it yet, but I am looking forward to it.

I really liked the first book. Loved the magic system and thought it was a great read.
The second book was a huge disappointment to me, thought it was barely average at best.
I hated the third book.
Liked the fourth book a lot. It was very good.
Warbreaker and Way of Kings are both very good reads as well.
