Wild Arms is a good game, I remember the first boss was a giant armored turtle or something. Man it's been a long time.

played all of those except the psp one since i never had that.
I'll add a couple to the list.
7th Saga - SNES
One of those "hard" rpgs. You could get stomped real easy in this game if you weren't careful. You also had the option to partner with one of the other playable characters but depending on your character and other circumstances they might just try to kill you instead and they were always super buff if they decided to attack instead of play nice.
Ah the 7th Saga.
The very first boss whoops your ass making you think "well... this game is impossible  "
Then it gives you a whistle so that you can kill him in one shot. "Oh, this isn't so bad now."
Then... Pison.
Survive him... meet your first apprentice. Careful... if its the wrong one, you die.
Epic.
