My bills require I clear 7k a month, between the two mortgages, utilities, divorce settlement, food, drink and lines of credit I have to pay every stinkin' month.
I pay more than 34k a year in Federal income taxes, not even counting what my company pays in taxes.
BTW I am not in the top 1% of US earners I think that is somewhere over $250k.

1% is roughly 400k or more. 8% is 150k or more.

It costs a lot more to live here than most countries in the world and we also don't tax nearly the same amount as they do, either

I owe 3 more monthly payments to the IRS and I'll have a HUGE bill off my back. Then I can afford to eat every day as opposed to 3 times a week like now. Been paying those blood sucking bastards for almost 8 years now.
Then I can start earning money again without them taking it all and I might be able to move into lower middle class in earnings again.
Don't ever make real money, other people just take it all anyway.
