I can't think of a pizza order for which I'd give an $8 tip.

That's my reaction too. I consider myself an above average tipper, but considering a pizza delivered around here costs $15-$20 bucks that would equal 40% + gratuity. I could not imagine giving a delivery person that kind of tip unless they were delivering in the middle of a blizzard or tsunami

Yep. I'd give a $2 for a well-delivered pie, perhaps $3 for two and if it was a pile of them, maybe $5.

considering you did tip $8 the frist time....what harm can come in throwing $2 at the new guy?

I always check my food before the pizza guy leaves.
Same with drive-thru. Check the bag before pulling away.
Way too many trips back into town because they forgot something or screwed it up.

I tipped a pizza dude $8 before. This was in portland, order came to $32 and change and i gave the guy $40 and said 'keep the change'.
The guy was suprised and started asking me if i wanted red peppers and parmesan cheese. He gave me handfulls of the stuff and left all happy.
I wipe my ass with $8 bills, but if it will shock a pizza man, i think i'll give $8 tips more often. Just to get it ou there that this house tips big so treat him like a king.
