I've always wondered, are there certain parts of the country where you order in a different way?
For example, few days ago at work I had alot of people ordering drinks, to me, in the reverse. Like, "  es let me get two Coke and rums, and a cranberry and vodka."
Is that a regional thing?

They could be total noobies. Vegas seems like a place where it'd have a lot of noobs who go there to visit I bet

I'd agree but alot of folks ordering this way were more middle aged. Maybe it's a Canadian thing?

I know it might be shocking, but there are middle aged people that don't drink on a regular basis.

In kentucky it's Rum n'coke. I think the bartenders in a lot of the bars I've been to here would punch you for ordering a vodka and cranberry unless you had convincing tits.
