I know they dont want to, it makes them look horrible. It'd practically kill Pauls campaign. I'm not really sure I see the purpose in it aside from sensationalism. Everyone already knows they are all filthy rich and try to skimp on taxes as much as possible. Everyone also knows they insider trade to make tons of money. Seems stupid.

It does matter it can point out the hypocrites and liars. However it shouldn't be a requirement but if another candidate calls you on it, well then its your choice. If you say no it becomes a character issue, and the general public is like what is this guy trying to hide?
Even the evil Obama paid a 26% tax rate for 2010.

Who is dumb enough to believe they arent all hypocrites and liars?
Romney doesnt want to disclose his because it shows he's paying hardly anything in taxes compared to the rest of us and wants to lower the tax rate further for his rich friends only.
Gingrich doesnt want to release his because he's filthy rich and shares almost nothing with middle america either in values or lifestyle.
Ron Paul is all tied up in big oil and getting paid handsomely for it, he isnt voting to give them subsidies because its a failing industry.
Santorum is probably writing off hookers or something.
Obama is probably getting kick backs from everyone.
And they are all insider trading.

Consider your source there.
Yes, I guess if they want public orifice, they should open their finances for examination. My only real concern is that they are not tax dodgers or worse.

Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.

all the more reason for it.
I am not grandstanding for Obama but this guy is the epitome of the American Dream , poor black kid from a dysfunctional family, and became the president.

Tax returns are not required by the Constitution but it would be nice if they chose to; however, birth certificates...

Absolutely not.
That's private, personal information. There is no reason for them to have to disclose it.
Besides, if you don't already think that they're all hypocrites and liars...

See, this is the problem...
Did Obama pay 26% of EVERYTHING HE EARNED in 2010 or did he just pay 26% on some tiny portion of it?
The whole tax discussion is muddied by folks who either intentionally or out of ignorance make statements like that without clarifying or qualifying them.
Maybe it's just that the tax code is FUBAR...
If you make $2 million in a year, but pay a 26% rate on $250k of it, with $1.75 million of it declared nontaxable - you really didn't pay 26% taxes...
The tax code is absurd and people are willfully ignorant I suppose.
