Computer speaker in the hundred dollar range? |
I'll find out when I get home if it's the sound card or speakers (more likely build in amp) in the old Altec Lansings I have. They must be 14 years old. I suspect it is them. Anyway, just in case, anyone have any good reccomendations?

Yeah, that's a decent price for some car speakers even. lol
Before I got some nicer bookshelf speakers for my PC I had an old pair of Kenwood 6x9's from my sister's car hooked up to a receiver/amp combo plugged into my computer. I just screwed a few pieces of plywood together into boxes to mount the speakers.

You guys gotta remember I competed pro in car audio for 3 years. A hundred bucks for speakers is dirt cheap to me. Even the speakers in my boat are $800 German speakers.

You're right. Not what I'm after. I need a speaker system with a good bottom. Only gonna happen with a sub. I actually could build my own speaker system with speakers I have on hand, but I know I could get a good sound system cheap and fast. I'll keep my raw Mackie speakers for something else.
