I have spent the majority of my life, and a majority of my money, trying to get lbgt the same rights as everyone else.
If there is anything I care deeply about, it is this. Because my brother doesn't have the same rights as I do.
You want to get your point across? Don't put rainbows on your facebook, or VN account. Don't go parading down the street during the gay pride parade. Go talk to your senators, congressman, mayors, whatever, and then you'll see change.
