I hear getting laid helps, I wouldn't know from personal experience however. I'm old and can't remember that far back.

yeah I was going to chime in on the exercise thing.

also, try to spend some time in a brightly lit place, and try to adopt regular hours for waking and sleeping, if you can.

Unfortunately not even Carlton can brighten my spirits, though this thread has been therapeutic in a way

I work out a lot already these days I have lost a lot recently in weight. Depression is something I have always struggled with on one level or another even though I smile a lot, but I haven't felt this bad for years.

yes, exercise helps release endorphins which is a great natural anti-depressant.

Is it worse in winter? Try full-spectrum bulbs wherever you sit the most during the day. My dad has SAD, and he gets more depressed in the winter if he doesn't use the full spectrum bulbs.

Well I am sad usually year long but who isn't a little sad about something? I do tend to have my rougher spots though in the winter, yup. Maybe more light will do just the trick This is more of a response than a natural sad time but still, anything that helps helps for sure.

Well, it can't just be any light. It needs to mimic the sun (which is why you need full spectrum bulbs). They help you produce vitamin d naturally, which also boosts mood.

And, just in case you weren't just being funny... SAD is Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's a real thing that happens to people in the northern climes, at least, when the sun isn't around as often.
