No, imo, but there are a lot of people that would think so. Beers after work don't even count as drinking says I.

In most of the labs I've hung out with or encountered, it's common to have a Friday afternoon "happy hour"...so I'm pretty sure geologists aren't the only scientists boozing it up at work.
The scientists I work with now have it booked in the calendar as a "liquid-handling meeting".
