Imo, no.
I feel if you have to get passed out drunk everyday, ie a non functional drunk, only then are you to be considered an alcoholic. Ala Snooky.
If you keep up appearances, responsibilities, finances, and stay out of jail for it then I do not feel I am an alcoholic. *And can easily go a day or week without a drink!
