I'm not a art person so my vocabulary is failing me, but despite having these poor tools to work with devs made every place in the game with an amazing attention to detail (that NPC not withstanding, lol). I really liked the mix of the three culture's medieval architecture and Dereth's high-fantasy-but-not-over-the-top style also. EQ graphics always struck me as too bright and goofy, their attempts at epic set pieces transparent and immersion-breaking.

I meant like the mid 2000's, around when they upgraded the graphics in throne of destiny... the upgrade wasn't nearly enough. Daoc was what, 2002? I thought they did the same kind of thing. Good art direction with poor graphics.

iirc, that was about a year after they changed the graphic on that robe. I never took it off, so it never changed. Hadn't seen anyone else on Leafcull with an original skin robe at that point for 6 months or so.
they brought it back and now everyone can get it
