Depends on the shoes but, the only ones that get replaced on a fairly strict schedule are my running shoes. Those go in 300-350 miles (8-10 weeks).
Other shoes go when they are worn out, or not presentable for their intended purpose, like dress shoes.

My boots are all 10+ years old.
I don't wear sneakers/cross-trainers/tennis shoes. Ever.
I work out barefoot.

what is this "replace" you speak of?
I buy new shoes whenever I fancy I need a pair for something, then I'll go buy 2-3 pair while I'm there.

I wear shoes until they are totally broken in and comfy. Then I wear them another few years until my feet are threatening to touch the pavement. Then I buy new shoes. I only have 1 pair of shoes at a time because I am not shoe person.
