Just be glad that thing was in an area you can easily reach and see. I wasn't so lucky recently >.< had to get someone else to lance it 
Anyways, keep a bandaid and some Neosporin on it, squeeze whatever junk is in there out each night until it closes completely and hope you didn't get something from the Vice Grips

If it is an ingrown hair you are going to have to get the hair out of there or it will just get infected again. Do you have tweezers? Sometimes they have to be dug out. If it was just a really painful zit then keep it clean and it should heal up on it's own.
