Wow, only took the liberal media 30+ years to figure this one out.
The lightning bolt stylized SS has been the Marine Scout Sniper symbol for a long time.
Obama has an election coming up. Time to demonize the troops!

i mean City of Heroes was banned for release in germany because of the law they have their that explicitly forbades the public display of Nazi regalia.

So you are insinuating that any US soldier would choose to associate themselves with the SS and leadership would allow this?
Or perhaps they picked something they thought looked cool and went with it. Do you realize how long ago that was and how old soldiers today are? I seriously doubt anyone of them, even in the 90s, has any clue what a ss symbol looks like or what it is. A swastika? Maybe.

I never once stated they were using the symbol maliciously, you are getting too riled up. But the use of the symbol is improper, either way.
It's likely they were not aware they were basically copying the SS. Or, even if aware, most people don't take into consideration other peoples' sensibilities.
The other small possibility is that there were some anti-Semitics in that first brainstorming session, but that is impossible to know and irrelevant now.

history is only written by the winners, to the people we are occupying we practically are the SS in their Eyes. if we end up losing somehow and the muslim extremists manage to take over and rule the world in 50 years that logo is likely to be akin to the evil that is associated with the SS. its all about perspective, just like its retarded to change a logo just because a similar logo has a negative connotation with it.
