Yeah salt is pretty much only for flavor, you should get enough of it without adding any. Good for you, personally I eat everything with 50% salt.

I've read it take 2 weeks to completely rid yourself of the taste for salt, but that's not true. I ate grits 2 months after I quit salt and I had to add some. I don't now though. But for a while I really wanted it for grits and mashed or baked taters. Not even think about adding it now. I would say more like 6 months.

I don't add salt to anything except fries if they don't come with it, and I don't eat those very often.
My parents put salt on everything.. makes me gag.. they don't even try the food before pouring it on.

I know. I learned it from my mom. She would salt watermelon, tomatoes, apples.....everything. And encouraged us to do the same.
