I realize this is just a troll attempt by BT, but just in case someone does take him seriously... This is not true. The child is first offered to the father, then the grandparents, then other family members are sought out to take custody of the child. If no one suitable is found the child is put into a foster home until such time as the mother has finished her sentence as is deemed to be a fit parent. Of course I'm just a Correctional Officer who works for the oldest operating Penitentiary in the U.S... obviously BT knows better than I.

I can understand that - it's a similar issue for me with the texture of the gelatin in head cheese. The grit is the corn meal.

It's scraps of pork cooked with corn meal and molded like head cheese and sliced.
Pretty huge in the Philadelphia area and of course all over PA as well.
Scrapple is in no way huge on the western side of the state... not even close. The reason its so big over there in the East is because its a popular Amish food.

Yeah, Scrapple would only be in eastern PA. It's in Maryland and northern VA, as well.

You can find it around here (Eastern TN) but it's not really popular. I also saw it a lot around Cleveland...about 40 years ago though, so no idea if it's still big up there now.

Most of it's basically sausage that doesn't have everything ground up till you can't see the different pieces of junk that went into it.
In the case of potted meat or Vienna Sausages, it's the opposite. It's sausage that has been ground up so much that it liquefied, then they added some aspic too it to hold it together.
