Ha. I wish! Minnesota Rollergirls are an amazing team. They have a really beautiful facility (or two) that they get to play in. They are big time. I WISH I was that good

Yep, that was a prime location, used to live within spitting distance of the Arden Hills site. Thousands of acres of nothing, they could have made pretty much anything they wanted in there.
Except what is out there? They'd have had to build a bar and stuff which would then limit people to going to that bar or store. Also they'd need to get some kind of public transportation. I don't know how much that would have cost to get Lightrail built out there.
If you don't like driving downtown then Park and Ride to the games. The Lightrail goes everywhere and you can park outside of the city and ride in easily.
My mom is going to be pissed cause she always calls me to find out if MN is playing a home game to figure out if she can go out on a Sunday or not. But I think that it has been shown that a downtown stadium is good for the business of other areas like nearby bars/etc. As well they wouldn't have gotten the funding if the city hadn't footed part of the bill.
Personally I am excited. I love going downtown for games, although it's probably because I can always walk home from them

Thats the beauty of that site, there is nothing at all out there. Wilf could have built whatever he wanted and there are literally thousands of acres to play with.
Right now there are probably 4 park and rides within a mile of that facility (and there wouldnt really be a need for much public transportation because there are literally thousands of acres to build parking in.) Thats one of the crappiest things about downtown, there is nowhere to park, there is no tailgating, its a effing mess to get out of Minneapolis after a game. Light rail is going to be coming from Forrest Lake sometime down the road and would run right by there.

we use ours for all sorts of games, kids and pro. so it gets a lot of use. maybe yall can start having championships games and what not in yours.
