Do you have an alarm system on your house? |
While my husband and I were at church today someone broke into our house. Lucky for us my brother was home and he scared the guy away. He came in through the side door in the garage that had a much crappier lock on it than we thought and then came in through the door from the garage to the house which we left unlocked because we figured no one was getting into the garage. Both the side door and the house door now have new deadbolts and locks and we are keeping everything locked no matter what. Also have new window locks on top of the original window locks. Next step is an alarm, maybe. Do you use one?

Yea. We were robbed the first year in our house back in 92'. We installed a system and pay for 24/7 monitoring.

I have the only actual effective part of an alarm system. The sign and stickers. My house claims to be protected by ADT... but its not.

that's one of my biggest fears right now while we are keeping two houses
dead bolts and pad locks on mil's house right now
jus dead bolts here

We have two noise makers that went after the guy and he didn't care. Considering getting one that people might actually be afraid of.
Ive heard of just getting the stickers of a house alarm but never heard it actually working.
