Little background:

About a year ago, my elderly neighbor had to put his wife into an assisted care facility. His daughter, her kids, and the baby daddy moved in "to help out for a short while". The short while turned into them digging into his home, turning his carport into the set of "Sanford & Son", and generally becoming a nasty blemish on our otherwise well-kept cul-de-sac.

It appears that the daughter opened multiple lines of credit under her mother's name, and the police had not been acting on numerous complaints against the family (some from me) because of the ongoing credit fraud investigation. I woke up this morning to lots of screaming from next door and, shortly after, a couple of cruisers from the Sheriff's department arrived to advise them that they had 24 hours to pack up as much of their crap to baby daddy's mother's house, with anything left being hauled away to the dump. I'm not quite sure where they are with the credit thing, that was about as much information that my wife got out of the old guy's brother, who had been working with the police on the investigation.

It'll be nice to have a week go by without all the drama.

This is what I was thinking.

How does a call like that even go?

"Hey. My neighbors house is ugly come tell them to fix it!"

Yeah, from day 1 they lacked even basic human courtesy:

They let their dogs run free, crapping on everyone's yard. When confronted, they did apologize, saying they didn't have a fenced in backyard. They would clean up if you asked them, but never on their own. They eventually fenced in the backyard, but did most of the work (with noisy gas augers to dig the post holes) after 10PM when the guy was back from work. (the first of my complaints against the noise ordinances).


The kids would cut across my lawn instead of using the sidewalk (again, not stopping until I repeatedly complained to the parents


Baby daddy would park his P.O.S. pickup in front of my house, leaking all sorts of fluids in the street, and making a ton of noise trying to turn it over each morning, in front of my 3-yr-old son's window. (2nd complaint)


The previously mentioned heaps of crap in the carport. At least I had no windows on that side of my house, so it was more of an eyesore to the neighbors across the street than it was for me.

They're not homeless...word from the brother is they're moving to baby daddy's mom's house instead of baby momma's dad's house - I don't know where she lives but it's not next to me.
