My dad used to beat me when I was a child. When I was middle school, I fought back for the first time.
I got him right in the mouth and broke a few teeth. He went to the garage and came back with a hammer. My mom cried and tried to calm him down, but he just kicked her in the stomach repeatedly (she was pregnant with what would have been my younger brother). I tried to stop him, but I was too young to overpower him. He held me down and took the hammer to my face, breaking my jaw and destroying most of the teeth on the left-hand side of my face. I thought I was going to die. He then went back into the garage and shot himself, but I didn't know that at the time.
I just lay there on the floor with a pool of blood forming around my head, hearing my mom sob. Every day when I put on my partial dentures I'm reminded of that day.
So, yeah. I would have much rather have watched Ghost Rider 2 than see my dad kick my mom to the point of miscarriage right before he smashed my face in with a hammer.

what was the point of having a child just to beat it?
My uncle use to be very rough with me growing up.. he would twist your arm to the point it felt like it was gonna snap or physically hurt me some other way. He was just a prick and a bully. Year go by and we're at the grand parents cabin for some reunion and he comes up behind me to try the same crap. I grabbed him and smashed him into a wall. He was stunned. I then pointed at his face and said I'm not a little kid any more.. you want some? He didn't. He walked away like the bitch he is.
