Cute puppies grow up into goofy, still cute doggies.
Cute piggies grow up into fat slobs that roll around in their filth and get wrinkly, and ugly, and have bacon in them.
Yes, so do dogs, but we feed them the bacon, and...they're dogs.
EDIT: *Also can be applied to most married men. They aren't eaten because it's kinda illegal...and stuff.

I second that. I see no reason why pets should not be on the menu. The only obvious one would be to avoid the "my neighbor ate Spot" cases but really they are animals. As many as get put to sleep every year it would keep soup kitchens stocked up nicely and I would have no problem with pets in the butcher shop beside cow and chicken.

So many dogs are put down before it's their time. Maybe pork could be replaced by stray dogs victim to the syringe, with an adopt a dog sticker on every package.

Adult pigs have awesome personalities when you get to know them. Also many pigs are fattened up on purpose by the people who own them. It's not really their fault.

I've never understood why we give any animals rights.
If you told me that by slaughtering 50,000,000 dogs and cats that we would cure most forms of cancer(or any major disease for that matter)... I'd support it in a second.

Yes, just one layer of the mind boggling double standards around animal rights issues.
Fight dogs and go to jail. Treat poultry in the most appalling ways possible...eat lunch.
The whole world is f***ed in the head when it comes to animal rights and 99% of the population is too engrained in their ways to see any truth in the matter.
I just laugh every time people tell me they are animal lovers as they are eating their hamburger/wings/etc.
