I'm not technically a parent but I've dated multiple women with children (Who does that?!) and it astounded me how much different they act/behave around responsible adults versus immature/disrespectful "parents."
I remember one instance when I came home from work and my (non) son asked me how was work. And he was actually curious and wanted to know. Not just being polite. I just stood there going  I had never seen him ask that to anyone else, ever. (He was 3 at the time.)
