I'm on book 2, haven't seen any of the show. Loving the books so far.

I learned with Jordan, and I try very hard now not to start series that might never end, or take 4 or 5 years between books. No thanks.

Jordan is almost done. Last book probably comes out in the fall and that is that.

This exactly. Like a character? They'll die and so abruptly that it's like they were essentially a background character.
The world is good, the overarching story is good, but the details and layout of the books made my mind numb. I quit after book 3.

Book 1: Good, engaging enough to keep you going til book 2
Book 2: kind of boring, mostly fill in information
Book 3: hsit hits the fan, explosions, car chases and gun fights
Book 4: like book 2 but with more dragons and whores
book 5: omg wtf long everyone hates the queen
