Interesting. You think the sun will just burn out like a light? I think it will swell up tremendously and cook the first few planets. And while most of the large meteors have collected with other celestial bodies, there are enough rogues out there right now. And we have some passing our path quite often. Don't think we will miss them until the sun burns out. Eventually one will get us. And while some life may survive, evolution will be in full swing.
Our species is so good at adapting the environment that we have remained unchanged for thousands of years. But if the need arises it will certainly kick in again. And who knows where that may lead us. If something cataclysmic did happen we would have isolated pockets of humanity throughout the world and given enough time we would once again have several varieties of humans. Scientist for far too long have tried to line them up in some sort of descending order. I just don't think it works that way. It's like a species of fish getting stuck in separate watersheds....you end up with 2 changed and different species
