Another nail in the coffin of green eco-products and services that the public DOES NOT WANT.
The stuff does not work as good or as better as conventional fossil-fuel run goods or services .... the government needs to stop wasting the money they have stolen from taxpayers on this broken crap

With your government is behind everything trolling persona you are taking this article all wrong.
Government Motors shut down the CHEVY Volt because of government involvement in big oil and they were afraid of it driving down their control of the US people by potentially developing technology to help us rid our selves of foreign oil and stop our occupation of peaceful oil producing countries.

I've never had any of the "huge subsidies for oil companies" listed or described. Please feel free to enlighten us.
Meanwhile, they are paying the government leases to pump from federal land and then paying enormous amounts of taxes on their companies' profits.
Then, the government is collected huge taxes from US the consumers when we pump gas into our tanks.
The money for those items seems to be running TOWARDS the government rather than away from it.

This is easily looked up....
The US gave oil companies approximately 5 billion in oil subsidies last year, approximately the same amount they paid in federal taxes.
