heroism in war always seems like an act of stupidity

you mean someone putting themselves directly in danger, in a war purely for corporate interest, is allowing us to live our lives safely over here?

fyi corpsmen are medics and are usually attached to marine units. Their job is more often then not to go in harms way and retrieve wounded and do their best to stabilize them.

See those guys with guns and RPG's and stuff fighting those other guys with guns and RPG's and stuff....yeah, well those corpsmen run in between them and try to keep the wounded ones alive, don't carry guns.(for the most part), don't hide in holes till it's over, don't do anything but run into a profanity of metal and explosives with nothing but bandaids for armor....and keep them alive, all of them, any of them, you got a pulse when they get to you, you are probably going to live to tell your grandkids about it. They are GOOD.

Never won a battle(outright), but won the respect of every person who ever fought one. Bravest SOB's on the planet. If you ever thought someone might, just might, deserve your respect just for being who they are.....those guys are either top of your list, or you are an idiot.

come on guys, don't fall bait to darkfire on this thread. His stance is whatever pisses the most people off. He just wants to get under your skin. As many of you have said on many other threads.

Obvious troll is obvious.

i'm not trolling, its an observation.

whenever i hear of heroism its usually accompanied by stuff like, guy runs into burning building while being shot at and throwing gernades back. i'm not debating its brave, just that it seems stupid too.

some of you people think everything is black and white. your emotion makes it so you cannot analyze anything.

Everything is black and white with corpsmen. They will die to save your ass even if you were the guy throwing grenades at them a few seconds earlier.

They help EVERYONE, no judgment, no reservations, just saving lives in the middle of hell. Eff yeah. Respect.

then if its them simply doing their job, wouldn't it be more of a commendation than heroism?
