I just think a NAM even with a V just doesn't seem like its a fitting award for the act of valor preformed..

the V itself is pretty badass, and there is nothing in the article saying that he won't pull a bigger medal down the road after the prolonged vetting process that is normally required for those awards from bronze star and up.

Dude better get more than that.
Corpsmen in the Navy face more perilous situations than SEALS in many cases. The best of those guys are amazing. They are also almost universally insane and creepy.

I'm pretty sure they are more medal of honor winners from navy corpsman then any other job rating. Shouldn't be surprised some have one the medal of valor.

My dad's bronze star has a V. I asked him once if it was for "Valor" and he chuckled and said that they told him that it was for "Victory" (he was a SeaBee, so it wasn't for combat per se, but whatever cool thing he did while building stuff in country).
