if you want to really be able to speak with as much certainty as we are capable of, then you need data that goes all the way back. in order to determine what is going on and why on a global scale you need to be able to see what has happened over the entire history.
how do you know that what happened "all the way back" is relevant???? don't you have to know something about climate to know that? is the first billion years of earth relevant? you just implied it was when you said we have to go all the way back.

i was talking about hybrids.
failed policy that for some agencies is more than TRIPLING their fuel consumption and that is also ignoring repair costs.
pretty sad that the administration ignores the fact that a v-8 pickup has a lower fuel consumption than a hybrid SUV in the same application.

All fossil fuels are solar, stored solar.
Everyone knows that presently that the alcohol fuels are less efficient and bio diesel is costly, so what, once oil prices reach a certain level we won;'t have much choice but to change.
The question is do we get ready and invest in the eventual transition, or do we sit around and wait like lemmings to jump off a cliff.

The experts don't disagree. The amount of scientists who believe that global warming is occurring (and man-made) is an extreme majority (over 80%, higher in relevant areas of study).
The global temperature increase is not consistent between regions. The Northern latitudes, like Russia, Canada, the Artic, and Greenland have increased at twice the average rate. This has led to an unprecedented retreat of glaciers and permafrost.
