the only proof i need is to look at a day in august where i had a frost 3 nights in a row that killed off most of my garden.
then i look at hitting 70 in the winter and it's even more proof.
global warming is not real...climate change was a farce because they only renamed their money maker because warming was not exactly fitting what was happening.
speaking of sample sizes. here comes the guy with a sample size of 3 days, lol.
i'm not a climate scientist, i assume they have the best knowledge. I am merely siding with the authority i think is most knowledgeable- in other words, not conservative blogs. at least scientists have reasons and data to support their idea of an accurate sample size. all the eminent critical thinkers of ACF can come up with is: smaller is worse! no duh?
it's just hilarious to me anyone is pretending to come up with their own conclusions. climate is complicated and chaotic, unless you can read the literature yourself you are ultimately siding with an authority on the subject. some ACFERs choose to believe conservative blogs, other don't.

but when the 'experts' disagree, what are you left with? i mean right above your post we have an article about research by some 'experts' that disagrees with what you've said here. you say you aren't knowledgeable on the topic, but then deciding for yourself who is and isn't, and which person to believe. now, i don't read any blogs, and i didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night, but i am not arguing the point, just the process. disagreement is a good thing, it leads to more questions, and that is where science starts. declaring one person to be right and all others wrong simply because it happens to align most closely with your own belief does not get us anywhere.

I am a very bad troll, I don't have near the experience that most of you have. I still try to have a discussion here, silly me. and how can i argue the issue of climate change if, like everyone else here, i am not an expert on it. the scientific process however, i am quite familiar with.

what's the point of speculating about sample sizes when neither of us can do anything but guess about how much data and how far back we need? it's not a discussion, it's totally empty speculation.

if you want to really be able to speak with as much certainty as we are capable of, then you need data that goes all the way back. in order to determine what is going on and why on a global scale you need to be able to see what has happened over the entire history. do you know what the climate trends were like 4000 years ago? 6000? to say that humanity is not influencing nature is absurd, every creature has an impact on everything else in some way or another. however to say that the cause of the changes in global climate is due to human actions is also absurd, with the limited knowledge we have. IF the climate goes through this sort of trend on a long term (call it hundreds, even thousands of years), then perhaps there is no significant impact due to our actions. but we don't know, because we don't have that data.
