What should happen to the Saints in their pay for pain scandal? |
Hurting a player for a game or knocking them out of a game is ok. However intentionally injuring a player to hurt his career or even season if found doing that the coaches that were a part of that shouldnt be allowed to coach again imo. Teams that lost players due to playing the saints should get compensated draft pics tbd based on the players value.
If no one got hurt I guess a no harm no foul type of thing but considering how the league is going I would think they would want to curb this type of stuff.

NFLPA hasnt said anything yet but I doubt they will unless the NFL targets players. I doubt they wil, I think they go after the coaches and team/owner/GM in this case.

I would love to hear though your "gray" area for paying players to hurt other players. How is that gray at all? I am sure Goodell sees that as completely unacceptable, especially considering the league he runs is being sued by players who dont feel he is doing enough to protect them.
I didnt put Do Nothing because I figured if you wanted to Do Nothing you could just post that. I also didnt figure anyone would be dense enough to figure Goodell would do nothing but apparently I was incorrect.
Please explain how this is gray though, I am sure myself and others would LOVE to hear that hilarity.
LOL, of course No Nothing was not a voting option. It might skew what you wanted to see. I bet you would feel different about the issue if it was the Packers instead of the Saints.

I heard about 20 seconds about this issue on the radio the other day.
My first thought was "Well duh".
Not like this hasn't been going on since forever, I remember a bit of an uproar back in the 70's about it. It was brought up in the NHL a few times over the past couple of decades as well.
Not endorsing or excusing it, just saying.... why the hell is everyone acting so surprised?
Any coach involved is going to get smacked down hard. Williams in particular is probably going to get booted from his job and get a ban from the NFL for a period of time. There will be endless committee meetings, wouldn't surprise me if congress started it's own investigation (not like they have anything important to do), there will be a flurry of lawsuits from ex-players no one remembers, and then it will go away....only to pop up again in 10 or 15 years, just like always.

Again you are being dense. If it was the Packers or any other team is irrelevant. I wouldnt maybe want anything to happen, I wouldnt be stupid enough to think Do Nothing was an option. Not that dense. We all know (except you apparently) that something is going to happen regardless of what team it is, because of the severity of the action and the lawsuits already floating around.

Of course something is going to happen. Because the media is making a lot of noise. It's going to end up being just like Toyota though. Once they had a fine levied against them all the sticking throttles just kind of went away.
