I worked at Family Dollar in HS.
We didn't sell any extended warranties.
Hell, I didn't sell anything, I worked 6 hours a week, 2 three hours shifts unloading their delivery truck. Big money for the time, 30 bucks a week.

no but i did tech support for a company that decided the tsrs should start pushing things like the sales people.  i never did. it actually made the sales reps that had to call us occasionally hate us. like we were going to steal their commission or something. oh boy if i do this part of your job i might get like $4 after the bonus taxes! hold me back from trying to upsell to your region.

Worked at an office Max for three years. The manager would bully associates to meet numbers. Meeting numbers meant selling to every customer, without bias.
Yes I felt guilty. Does this 80 year old woman really need a protection plan on a phone?

I feel like all I do all day at my job is take advantage of sweet old people and sell them overpriced crap they barely even need.
at least you don't work for geeksquad, i seriously had to bite my tongue one time when they were hustling this old guy. I hate places like that, they prey on the stupidity/ignorance of others...

I work there too. The Managers don't bully us but they definitely pressure us into getting everything covered. Max assurance and the kits and the services...
I work better when there's no pressure.
Working retail sure wasn't what I thought it'd be. I thought it would be low key, like the movie Clerks. I need to find a job where everyone is a slacker, like me.

I worked at a furniture store in high school. I didn't know enough about the furniture to really be able to sell it nor did I really care about it either. My manager was a pretty huge bitch
I usually was pretty honest about the crap they sold if I was asked, but we sold some pretty good crap to be honest compared to most furniture places. Plus I didn't know if it was crap or not, I just moved the crap
