To provide the necessary organization to keep a society of hundreds of millions of people running smoothly. Private citizens would/have not voluntarily assumed these responsibilities, so the government has to hire citizens to perform the required tasks.

I have a great relationship with my government. They seem to enjoy sending me money every month for my contribution to my nation's future, apparently.

Soon, I get to pay it back by working for way less pay than I would get elsewhere (like in the USA for example!) but I'm ok with that, I sort of owe Canada and my fellow taxpayers.

To be the world's policeman, to ensure oil and tobacco subsidies are paid, to enforce my religious viewpoint, to fight the free press, and to ensure taxes hit payroll harder than investment income.

between the feds, state and counties, I have $200k in AR, that is what the hell I want, it has gotten so bad I am refinancing my house so I won't have to struggle with the payroll every two weeks

when you take government contracts you have to expect that it will take at least twice as long to get paid.

In my business Govt. pays faster than private.

Opinion = fact. Anecdote = proof. Political label more important than either of those.
