It sound worse than a laptop or the 13 year old TV I replaced. I could plug in external speakers but I then you have no way to control audio with the remote.
It's like the TV has nasal congestion, so turning the volume past 7 just makes it increasingly more aggravating.
I'm trying to adjust the Treble/Bass to make it acceptable, but no luck yet. Can't believe they'd release such a crappy product.

Yeah that's good and all, but I listen to the TV more than I watch since I multi-task.. this'll give me headaches.

Unfortunately the smaller tvs get the crappier the speakers get. You can get good get sound in a small package but it'll cost ya. You should probably buy a sound bar system or return the tv.

Wow a Toshiba that sounds bad? I think You might have gotten a defect. Toshiba doesn't really "" put out crap stuff.

I moved the TV closer (into the middle of the room :/) and there's a little improvement... I think I'll return it since a sound bar would be expensive.

Blame the US goverment -- they have standards for electrical usage of tvs that is SO LOW that cruddy sound is the norm. If they gave even passable sound then they would have a much dimmer screen. In essence they figure EVERYONE will get a sound bar with the new tvs.
