I think this thread had gotten well underway before I ever saw it, and it was pretty funny. And most of us have even referred to it. Why? Because we knew people here would find it funny. But honestly, how many of us would voluntarily eat a partially eaten sandwich from someone we thought had AIDS? I know the chances of catching AIDS like this are pretty slim, but I myself would not do it. And I doubt any of you would either. You might say you would, but I don't believe you.

99% sure most of us wouldn't eat it, we know the science of the chances is very low, but the fear is there.

One term of university I ate a lot of half eaten food. Presumably I ate a couple aids sandwiches.
I'd rather not do it again but for a few reasons more important than the aids thing. Heh.

I agree with this. And it's funny, I went thru an AIDS awareness class long ago. One of the things they told us was that care givers have lower immunities.....and in the same lecture told us how hard it is to catch the AIDS.

I don't even voluntarily think of people with AIDS. There are whole portions of Africa that don't even exist to me.

I wouldn't, but I don't eat other people's partially eaten food regardless, so it's not because of that. Frankly it's not a fear of AIDS but just kind of an "ewwwww" factor in general- I mean, who knows where that other mouth has been?? I will only rarely take a bite or a drink from something of my husband's, and we swap spit all the time.
