I've had to bite my tongue over this at work a lot lately. We have a lot of Mexican American temps working the floor and a lot of the middle to upper management want them to "just speak the language of this nation..."
It's bad when the HR guy says things like that. LOL
I'm like, "yah, I think most of the problem was because of a simple language barrier.. They're alright"
His reply, "  ou mean if they'd just learn freaking English they could do their job?"

I had to nod and smile at one of my forklift drivers today after he said something to that effect just minutes after detailing that he could not work on Sundays because of his religious beliefs.

i don't care if ppl who live here learn english or not, it is up to them. but they shouldn't be upset if i can't understand and/or help them when they have a problem.

Conservatives would like to limit the languages that the GOVERNMENT is forced to speak. We don't like having to pay to talk to people who won't learn english.

For some reason, I think that's more of a liberal mindset that "conservatives" have adopted. . . Expecting others to change in order to fit the needs of the government/majority.
