As many people who want to go to college. The government should not be involved with telling people who can/cannot go to college.
If someone can get the money together they should be able to go. Student loans maybe should be reworked to give a student a more realistic picture of their post-degree life.
The govt. makes more money from student loans than it gives out... and student loans will follow you until you die so you pretty much have to pay them off.
Everyone screaming that education is in a bubble is just seeing the effects of the recession... higher education is pretty heavily subsidized by the state... they have had to slash education budgets the last few years and people are pretty much paying the true costs... so state universities are pretty much running like private institutions and making the students pick up the cost instead of the taxpayer.

Eh, I feel that we need to make higher education available to everyone - however, we need to simultaneously remove the stigma of obtaining a two year degree, trade or technical degree while make less expectations for everyone to pursue a bachelor's degree.

Problem is that people are seeing education as the same as "post-college work."
What is wrong with education for the sake of simply sucking less, having a skill or two other than sitting in front of a TV? Knowing how to cook for your family, stuff like that?

20% tops. Everyone else is just wasting their money. They should be going to factory training or apprenticing in some other skilled trade.
