I wasn't aware that the was a movie. I read it purely for entertainment at around the age of 15.

The book is interminably dull and the movie, despite Henry Fonda, is also a snoozefest.

Maybe my 15 year old self was just more interested in American historical fiction than yourself. *shrug* I thought it was pretty darn good.

Whoa. You managed to cite one that would give GoW a run for its money in the overrated dept.
Faulkener's "As I Lay Dying" would be the absolute worst. for me, but it isn't really rated as highly as the other two.
