The movie is a bit different from the book, but still good. Just watched it again today. Hope I don't have to add the label "Spoilers" to this!

Yep.
Sunday afternoon, nothing else to do. Overall it's an interesting cultural commentary, but otherwise it's a damn boring movie.

My mom was born in eastern Oklahoma not too far from Sallisaw. Her family lived thru this. They moved back and forth from California several times until her father died. They would move to California and build up a nest egg then go back to Oklahoma until it ran out again. I guess for me the story is not so boring.
