Steel toes? What work are you in? Steal toe can have its disavantages, have they gotten lighter?

dont laugh...

I install networking infrastructures during the construction phases of new buildings... so STB's are required.

Why would we laugh -- that is a "real job." And why skimp on boots? You can probably tax-deduct them as well.

During my tenure as Flight Deck Coordinator back in the day, I wore Red Wing steel toe boots and they were absolutely amazing! The surface of an aircraft carrier flight deck is beyond uncomfortable and awfully hard on boots but those Red Wings held up to it and felt like I was wearing a pair of slippers. They are so good that most of the F/A-18 squadrons on the west coast buy them for you.

I've had a pair for more than 20 years. Still wear them, they are still comfortable, they still look nice.

Buy em' wearing steel toed boots is a pain anyway might as well get something that is comfortable.

I'd suggest shoes but if you need the boots get a pair you like to wear after all your in them for 8-10 hours a day.

By the time you get to work and home I wear Tarantula boots since they are no slip kinda nice in wet enviorments. Proabably around $100 here in Canada. Normally used to last 1-2 years it really depends how hard you are on them. Sounds like yours should last a while.

especially if you work long shifts in them.

I wear either Danner or Georgia boots. Not fond of Redwing. I have had better luck with Georgia boots holding up in the mud, rain, concrete than anything else. Good boots are going to cost almost $200 at a minimum, anything under $100 is junk that will not hold up to a serious job site. I always get steel toe as well. My next pair will probably be Danner Rainforest boots, almost $300. However, they are double layers of leather and extra heavy triple stitching.

If you use them for work, then they are worth it
