Seems to be pretty common to do a prequel after a trilogy... not like Shepard is there for people to be attached to going into the next one.

Hard to say.

You have the option of Destroying the Reapers and saving Shepard. This may be canon for BioWare and Shepard Surviving is the highest point score ending you can get (4000 and 5000), so perhaps it IS the canon ending. I would like an official word from BioWare at some point in the future.

The main problem is that the ME story was very original in most respects, so how do you out do them for a new trilogy? It will be super hard.

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.

Just a thought. I haven't even played it yet so pure guess work on my part, lol.

Its true.

Five years of a carefully crafted storyline where your choices have real consequences winds up with one of 3 generic endings in which none of your choices didn't matter in the least.

Did you really expect them to make a thousand different endings to incorporate all the little decisions from all three games?

Welp, trying to scroll past spoilers on these threads. The rest of what I read is making me pat myself for saving 70 bucks.

Certainly sounds like I can wait till it is bargain basement prices to be disappointed.

She's WAY easier to comprehend. I only had to read this twice...

Of course not. But you would expect the MAJOR decisions to make a play. Did you let the council die in the first game, to be replaced by a human council?
Do the Rachni or Krogan take over depending on your decisions with those races?

The fact is, there are three endings. The only real difference is the color of the explosion at the end.
NONE of your choices affected the ending at all. For a series that was built upon choices having consequences, this was completely absurd.
