I should know how to use them but I just don't... It's actually annoying if you think about it as a Deaf person. We communicate using our hands, so if we want to say something, we gotta put down the chopsticks to sign. So, if we're using chopsticks and having a conversation... We would not be able to eat, ha ha...
My mother tried teaching me many times and many times she has failed.  lol So she pretty much has given up... Now I just use American utensils 
Obviously you are able to speak with a fork, knife, and spoon in your hands.

Chopsticks - you have to manipulate them to do what it's designed to do.

anyone got the plastic chopsticks?
My friends have 4-5 'designer' sets...lol...that they use.
Guessing they're about the same ease of use as the metal ones.
When I order Chinese food they bring me the wood ones...so I've never felt the need to buy my own set.
also, I should learn to wok...

Like an extension of my hand. Just spent the last 2 years living in a cambodian household, i think they had 2 forks that they just used for slicing meat. (holding the meat steady, not the actual cutting) You can still shovel food into your mouth. I eat like a wild animal so something that slowed me down a ton would be a dealbreaker.
My son is 2 and he is getting ok at chopstick use, but he is still at the "kind of sucks even with a spoon" stage

it's not hard. my husband tried to teach me, but he holds them wrong, so I was like "LOL what?"
then his sister showed me the proper way to hold them and bam, I was able to do it immediately.
