This is the ultimate issue. People live in should land, and ignore reality. At the end of the day it comes down to is it cost effective or not.

Seems kind of ridiculous to push people into unemployment by waging a billion dollar war on drugs and then lose money drug testing the unemployed...

Yes we should make them jump through all types of hoops and treat them like criminals who are on parole for losing their job in the worst economic downturn since the great depression. Awesome idea.

No. It's already been shown to be waaaaaaay too cost ineffective for welfare programs. Plus if they're collecting unemployment, it means they were actually employed, as in they earned the right to those benefits. There are enough hoops to jump through already.

I wish they would give up trying to drug test everybody for everything.

I guess none of these lawmakers have bothered to call their state human resource department to find out how much it cost to run a drug test program that can with stand a legal challenge.
