I have this keyboard: MS keyboard $29.99 shipped from Amazon

and this mouse: Logitech Marble $19.99 shipped fro Amazon

If having those makes me a shi**y gamer, then so be it. *shrug* And, yes, I still use my keyboard to turn.

i use the best mouse ever paired with a $2 keyboard because any keyboards like steelseries are a waste of time. and if those keyboards are useful for you, go outside.

It's all about what suits your needs, IMO. As a casual gamer you can probably do pretty well with a $10 mouse but at higher levels those extra buttons on a more expensive mouse might really help you out.

Like DE mentioned, the Razer Naga is great for MMOs, won't necessarily give you a better edge in FPS-games though.

Keyboard also depends on what you want out of it. I use the G15 v1 and it has pretty much everything I need, the lcd-display helps save a lot of time and inconvenience since I listen to music a lot. The G keys on the side are also helpful. It also doesn't ghost, like ever.

Your mouse and keyboard don't have to match though, but gamers usually get sponsored by one company so they'll use that brand pretty much exclusively.

To be honest I don't get it...

I usually keep a mouse and keyboard in my place to replace the ones I'll ruin in a few months.

A 10$ mouse and keyboard is waiting for me when I ruin this mouse and keyboard....

I have destroyed folks in PvP and while raiding using just a $10 keyboard and mouse while MMOing with a 120 ms latency. I can't speak for FPS games though, but with an MMO, if it comes down to the response time of your keyboard and mouse, you're doing it wrong. It's about dexterity, making proper choices of skill/ability usage, and practice. That's what makes MMOs playable by those without nanosecond twitch reflexes and sub 20 ms ping times unlike FPS games.

I have a glass-top desk, so the only mouse I have found that works on it without a mouse pad is the Logitech AnywhereMX with their "Dark Field" tech. Normal optical/laser mice don't work. I think it was on sale for 45-50 bucks when I got it.

I love the design of Logitech mice. Very comfortable. Their wireless mice are great. They are all i have owned since the MX700 came out years ago. My current mouse on my gaming pc is a G700. Yeah, it cost $100 but it is worth is. Great product.

As for keyboards, i have looked at the big fancy ones but just cant commit. I have a couple Saitek Eclipse II and they are good enough. Never had any need for a ton of macro keys, not that i wont get one some day.
