As a watcher of EG_Idra I see the advertisement for the Steelseries stuff a lot.
What makes a $80 mouse, $150 keyboard, and $15 mousepad better than my set(which cost $10 Mouse,$10 Keyboard,and $15 with a Colts logo)
Are they worth it?

I've got the Black Widow Ultimate keyboard from Razor. It cost almost $200 and it is hands down, the best keyboard I have ever used. So far, I've gotten about 18 months out of it, which is far more than any other keyboard I ever had.
Ya I am hard on keyboards.
I don't spend more than $50 or so on a mouse though. My current one came free with a laptop (Razor Deathadder).

I spent around 80 on my g11 and I found it worth it. Might of been a bit more than 80 I forget.

I tend to stick with Logitech and don't mind paying more for a keyboard. The macros and whatnot plus the thing being durable enough to take apart every once in a while is reason enough for me.

response time, durability, programming...
I'm still using the original G15 keyboard simply because I haven't found a keyboard yet that can do what it does.

my mouse and keyboard only came to 100 bucks together. But i dont think anyone has really answered the question:
Durability is the main reason.
But also some games become easier when you have multiple buttons on your mouse and extra hotkey buttons on your keyboard.

I know there are laser mice and optical mice. Laser tend to be more expensive because you can use them on any surface without a mousepad and they tend to be more precise. That's all I know about mice.
