Do the flavors taste pretty close to the real thing?
They have them at costco too, if you shop there.

I honestly cannot taste the difference between the syrups and the "real thing" for want of a better phrase. And I'm really, really picky about tastes.

If you keg just fill one with water. You'll want to keep it around 30 PSI and either run longer lines or use bayonets to slow it down so it doesn't degass when it leaves the tap. I make my own syrups but they sell them too. Syrup in a cup add carbed water from keg add ice.

I would consider it, but the idea of sending in bottles to get refilled sounds expensive.

Hah, flavoured alka-seltzer. I imagine that as soon as its done dissolving, though, there goes all the "fizz" in the drink and you're just left with flavoured flat water.
