Finally bought ours today after wondering for ages whether or not it would be worth getting it.
So far we've noted:
It makes the soda REALLY fizzy. So fizzy that Wolfz actually choked from the bubbles first time he tried to drink his soda.
Only tried two flavours (Diet coke and diet Dr Pete which is their equivalent of Dr Pepper) and both are nice, but they gave us a whole selection pack of flavours to try, so we're going to work through them.
Seriously, these things are worth the money. And it's really good fun making your own sodas

Not sure of the exact number but considering we get through a lot of soda in this house, i cant imagine it would be long before it paid for itself.
EDIT: Yeah, the unit itself is pricey, but one bottle of the drink mix ($4.99) makes 12 litres of soda, and i think the carbonation bottle is good for the equivalent of 150 cans or something like it.

I keep thinking about getting one just to readily have carbonated water. I need to figure out a ghetto way to do it with my CO2 tanks...

It's cool to see these coming back again. My mom had something similar from a company called The Pop Shoppe or something like that. Not sure what ever happened to it, but I think it was the first "at home" soda maker.

They're really worth it. And they do subtle flavours if you want lightly flavoured water (or you could just put that mio stuff in, i guess, it's all the same thing).

Yeah, we had one growing up in the UK. I remember, my Nan bought it for us and she would always pick up new flavours for it at the market near her house. I was stoked when i saw they have made a comeback.

I think the most aggravating thing for us using that would be that we have to filter all of our water so we'd have to filter the water first before we could even make the soda then filter more water just to have water to drink. Which we filter the water anyways so it wouldnt be an extra step but ya know what I mean lol It just seems very involved vs just going to the store and picking up a 12 pack.
If you have your own deep well that you dont have to filter the water first it would be perfect.

So get a filter that fits on your tap. That's what we did, problem solved.
