Lol why do gays get to ruin everything by being drama queens? If the guy was hooking up with a girl it would have been super embarassing for her and no one would have cared outside people that knew them. Additionally if this guy hadnt killed himself nobody would care, instead hes like oh noez im a depressed repressed gay /suicide, wow thats really original. Why is this even a big deal? Poor guy getting screwed by the law here big time. Its like anything involving black people, big mistake if it gets picked up by the media circus.
lawl if it had happened to a woman all she would have had to do was yell rape and they all would have been put under the jail house lol But if a gay person dies no one makes a big deal about it.
Its like that one kid who shot the other kid in high school point blank and in cold premeditated murder...he only got 22 years

jealous? hardly. Id rather be free and hated than oppressed and loved. I lived in the closet for 20 some odd years. Ill be damned if Im gonna do it again for some random internet bullies who cant stand a lifestyle other than what theyre already accustomed to. Like I said before Im not gonna be a flamer about it. I dont want to throw it in people's faces but if the topic or any related topic comes up Im gonna share my opinion on it no matter who likes it or not just like everyone else enjoys the freedom to do.

all legal cases the get national media attention attract good defense attorneys looking to volunteer their services, just because its free face time on national tv.
the majority of people that get processed through the criminal justice system cant afford a good lawyer.

I have no problem with it being labeled a hate crime....because, at root, that is what it was.
People fear and hate things that are different, different sexuality is one of the situations that causes the most fear and hatred. It also causes the most brutal and oppressive retaliations and offenses by others.
It would be nice to live in a world where everyone was accepted by everyone else, and making certain crimes subject to more punishment based upon the victims differences from the "norm" unnecessary, but we don't.
There are times when society must be pushed, screaming and flailing, into growing the eff up and dealing with reality. Racism, misogyny, homophobia....all are blights on our collective consciousness and all of them have at times led to horrific crimes and countless acts of cruelty and oppression.
It's in all of our best interests for such pathological hatreds to be pushed to the margins of society and forcibly removed from acceptable behavior and ways of thinking. I know it goes against the grain of everyone to think of forcing people to accept others, but it's still something that our country, and our world will be better off for after it has been done.
It takes generations to change peoples thinking, but it does happen. IF you force it. If you simply wait for people to grow up without pushing the issue, you get generation after generation of fear and hatred ingrained and entrenched into society and then it makes the problems associated with such pathologies even worse.
If you have to think twice, or even three times before you do something stupid....it's a good thing. Even if it sucks at times for individual cases. That's part of being part of a society. Sometimes, just like a soldier in war, you have to undergo situations that suck for the good of the whole. However, unlike being a soldier, you aren't sworn to being an asshole and you sure as hell aren't protecting and serving society by hating on people who are different from you.
I could feel sorry that the guy got punished for his act of "petty fun". But I don't. His "petty fun" ended up with someone else dying. Even though it wasn't directly his fault, he made the situation worse. So screw the stupid bastard and let him deal with the results of his stupidity. The guy who died already dealt with the results of his stupid decision to kill himself. He is dead. I don't feel sorry for him either, I just wish the situation would have never happened in the first place. Which is what hate crime legislation can help reduce. Situations such as this.

Uh. So last time I checked I was neither a bully nor can I "not stand" a lifestyle other than what I'm already accustomed to. There are a lot of people with lifestyles that I neither agree with or would like to have as my own, but I also don't hate any of those people.
The only reason you annoy me is that you think if anything bad happens to a gay person, it must be because the other person hates gays and it's a hate crime. You simply refuse to believe anything other than that point of view.
Analogy. A white guy beats up a black man just after the black guy gets out of his truck. Hate crime, right? Ol' Whitey must hate black people! Not so fast! Turns out that white dude hates people who drive Fords with a passion (he's a Dodge man himself) and it wouldn't have mattered if the truck driver was white, black, or purple. He still would have done it. But the only thing some people can see is "a white guy beat up a black guy therefore HE MUST BE A RACIST". Yes the analogy is a bit far-fetched but it's just to make a point.
Or let's say you got your ass handed to you. Probably nothing would convince you that the person who kicked your ass did it because you're an annoying douchebag. You'd no doubt start whining that he did it because you're gay and that other guy is a homophobe and hates gays. You'd have him arrested not just for assault and battery but for a "hate crime" too. Yes assault/battery. Absolutely. But hate crime? Uhhhh no.

woot Im so glad they nailed him to the wall for this.. he deserves everything he gets and then some. I cant wait til he gets to prison and he can see what the real gay sex life is about when one of the old fat inmates named Bubba makes this kid his new girlfriend. They should totally broadcast that over the internet as well.
Vindictive much? Nothing worse than hate-filled gays.
apparently hate filled straight people are worse since this guy was found guilty just cause they couldnt prove the hate crime part doesnt mean he wasnt guilty of it.
Wait, you just contradicted yourself.

Are you openly supporting rape with that post, and claiming rape is what real gay sex lives are about?

I don't think you get it Non... we don't hate you because you are gay. We could care less that you are gay. We hate you because you are a pompous jackass who tries to turn everything to his agenda and scream hate and spew. YOU attack STRAIGHT people on this board, not the other way around. You ARE a flamer about your sexuality because I have NEVER seen you make a post without mentioning that you are gay and how everyone hates gays even when it has nothing to do with the thread.
You WANT everyone to care and feel sorry for you because you are gay... Well news flash: We don't care about YOU or your sexual preference. Get over it.
