i got the latest low-end ($79.99) Kindle a month ago and I absolutely love it. small, sleek, simple.
i find myself reading a lot more and something about the little device makes reading easier and faster. breezing thru books.

If all you want to do is read on it, definitely get one with an e-ink screen.
I love my Kindle, and I loved my Sony Reader that I had before it.

Bought our girls each a Kindle Fire for Christmas and they love them. They have had zero problems trying to read books. Personally, I would hate trying to read a book off the tiny screen of my phone.

The Kindle app was well worth it for iPad...and it was free...

Yes. The base models only cost around $80. Get it just because, and if you don't like it, you can throw it against a brick wall.

i think the e-ink nook is cheaper than the kindle right now and it doesn't have ads. but you should play with all the e-ink readers at like best buy to make a decision on which one you want.
