i don't think i'm making my oatmeal right, usually just add milk and heat it up, am i supposed to be putting sugar in it or something

I use milk instead of water, a tiny bit of salt, then add some sugar(to taste), cinnamon(small amount), and a few drops of vanilla(not the fake stuff!).

The raisins and bananas actually sound yummy, haven't tried those yet. 
I can't stand peanut butter though... even the smell
